In the spring of the school year is time for schools to give exams. In the past our students have taken the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills or ITBS.  This year our students and most of the students in the rest of the state of Wisconsin in grades 3-8 are taking what is called the Badger Exam.  The Badger Exam was created by the Smarter Balance Assessment Consortium.  This is a group of states working together to develop the next generation of assessments. These will be given on our Chromebook computers. They are designed to give our school and the state the kind of information that will measure student progress towards college and career readiness.

This online test will assess students on how well they understand English Language Arts which is reading and writing and mathematics.  Testing begins next Tuesday, March 24. Parents can help by making sure that their children get plenty of sleep. They can also help by talking about how important it is to try hard and do their best possible work. If you have any questions about this new testing, please feel free to contact Mrs. Ettlie or Ms. Klein at either office.

Lenten Project 2015

"Luz Para Educacion: Light for Education"

The Luz Para Educacion project supports the purchase of indoor solar lights for families homes in the Dominican Republic who are a part of our sister parish, La Sagrada Familia in Sabana Yegua, Azua. This year we are supporting the mountainous communities who have no electricity at all. The project seeks to end the use of candles and propane lights which create home fires and unhealthy situations for children. Our school wide goal is to collect enough "alms" donations for 150 solar lights. Each light is $18.75. That averages out to a personal goal of $6.00 per child or $1.00 per week of Lent.

You can support these families with the gift of light. We are all the light of God's love.

Two of our wonderful parents helped the teachers and students to create ofrendas for both campus locations.
Thank you to Mrs. Miranda (South Campus) and Mrs. Reyes-Becceril (North Campus) for your effort and creativity.
Thank you to our Alverno Art Education Field student, Ms. Castro, for creating this beautiful bulletin board display.
